Courts and support services should be equally accessible to all individuals. Interpreters listed on the Court Interpreter Registry are used for courtroom proceedings. However, many times Limited English Proficient individuals arrive at the courthouse to seek assistance with other matters, such as marriage licenses, business licenses, land records, etc.

Effective October 1, 2012, the AOC has a contract with Language Line to provide telephone interpretation services for outside of the courtroom events.

To access an interpreter:
  1. Dial 1-866-874-3972
  2. Provide your Client ID: Circuit Courts - 530284; District Courts - 530277; Commissioners - 530280
  3. Indicate the language you need
  4. Provide Access Code (check with your supervisor or contact Court Interpreter Program at (410) 260-3569
    Language Line Poster (PDF)

Courts can order additional Language Line Posters and Desktop Cards at no charge by visiting the Language Line Customer Resource Center at http://www.languageline.com/customer-service/support-tools/

For further assistance or to obtain your Access Code, contact Program Services at (410) 260-3569.
