How to Find the Deed to Your Property

A deed is a record of ownership for a piece of real estate such as land or a home. They are kept in the Land Records Department. Every Maryland County and Baltimore City has a Land Records Department located in that County’s Circuit Court. Deeds and other documents stored in land records are open to the public. There are two ways to get a copy of your deed. Either get your deed online or pick up a copy in person at the circuit court.

The web address for Maryland Land Records has changed. Please visit landrec.msa.maryland.gov to find and view documents held by land records.
